Job Profile
Assistant Attorney General III-V The candidate will work for the Civil Medicaid Fraud division. Conducts complex civil Medicaid fraud and related litigation in both state and federal courts. Provides civil Medicaid fraud and related information to state and local governments. Initiates and conducts civil Medicaid fraud and related law investigations, including directing investigator activity. Represents the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. before state or federal district and appellate courts. Performs and directs legal research and reports findings and conclusions. Prepares and directs the preparation of legal briefs, pleadings and other legal documents. Analyzes complex factual and legal issues; develops evidence for filing and prosecuting civil Medicaid fraud cases. Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including applicable security and safety rules, regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
Assistant Attorney General (AAG) III: The candidate should have graduation from an accredited law school. License to practice law in the State of Texas required. 3 years of full-time experience as a licensed attorney needed. Civil litigation experience essential. Knowledge of laws and legal principles and practices relevant to the Antitrust and Civil Medicaid Fraud Division required. Excellent research skills needed. Skills in using a computer for word-processing and data entry/retrieval essential.
Assistant Attorney General (AAG) IV: All of the above qualifications for an AAG III, and 2 additional years of full-time experience as a licensed attorney required. Experience in laws and practices related to antitrust and civil Medicaid fraud needed.
Assistant Attorney General (AAG) V: All of the above qualifications for an AAG IV, and 2 additional years of full-time experience as a licensed attorney required. Extensive experience in laws and practices related to Antitrust and Civil Medicaid Fraud needed.
Preferred qualifications: License to practice in Federal Court preferred. Experience working in a team environment preferred.
