Home Health Occupational Therapist Jobs

A home health occupational therapist actively engages people in purposeful activities to promote, regain, or maintain health and well-being, using occupations as therapy and enabling individuals to perform in occupations. A home health occupational therapist works with children and adults of all ages whose difficulties may be congenital or the result of an accident, illness, or aging. A home health occupational therapist assesses a patient or client’s physical, mental, and/or social challenges and devises treatment programs to increase his or her ability to tackle any difficulties independently. A home health occupational therapist ensures that elderly people are cared for appropriately, either in a care home or by a family member in their own home, giving consideration to everyday activities such as washing, preparing and eating meals, shopping, and mobility.
A home health occupational therapist position requires a degree in a relevant field from an accredited school and at least six months of related experience. A home health occupational therapist should have basic computer skills. A home health occupational therapist should have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Excellent communication skills are required to converse in the best way possible with patients.
