Job Summary:
 
The Certified Occupation Therapy Assistant is a skilled technical worker who performs Occupation Therapy treatments and related duties as assigned by the Occupation Therapist in the acute care and outpatient environments.  This work is carried out under the direction of the Occupational Therapist who provides the assistant with supervision in accordance with the laws of Tennessee for Occupational Therapy.','!*!Minimum Qualifications:
 
Education:

Must be a graduate of an approved occupation therapy assistant program as certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. 
Must be certified under the statutes of the state of Tennessee for Occupation Therapy. 
Must maintain current credential requirements.
Experience:

No previous experience required by experience in an acute care or outpatient services preferred.
Current BCLS/Registration to attend training.
Electrical stimulation and modality certification preferred.
Equipment/Skills:

All standard modalities utilized within an Occupational Therapy Department.
Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in the Occupational Therapy. 
Considerable knowledge of the possible hazard to patients during treatments and necessary precautionary and remedial measures. May enter the secured medication rooms to deliver or access supplies and equipment necessary to carry out the core job functions.
