Job Description:

The Mrs. T.H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California invites applicants for one full-time clinical faculty position.  This faculty will lead a new initiative on Occupational Science Scholarship Dissemination and Translation under the direction of the Chan Associate Dean and Chair.  He/she will develop interdisciplinary partnerships locally and globally to develop and implement educational and community-engaged projects addressing wicked occupational problems (e.g., long-term unemployment, homelessness, substance abuse) that impact daily routines, social participation, health, and quality of life. 

This position also entails teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in Occupational Science or Occupational Therapy (e.g., OS Theory/Foundations, Ethics, Qualitative Research Methods, Community-Engaged Practice), and will participate in development of new courses/curricula in Occupational Science minors program and entry-level OTD program.  This person will also mentor/advice students. He/she will develop and lead a peer-mentored writing group for faculty on Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy scholarship dissemination and translation. 

He/she will be expected to maintain active scholarship, including grant writing, publications, and presentations; actively participate in division as well as professional service activities locally and globally; and will head the planning committee for the annual Occupational Science Symposium.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in occupational science; national certification as an occupational therapist, and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of California; at least 5 years' experience in academia including graduate level teaching, scholarship/research and service; excellent oral and written communication evidenced by record of scholarly presentations and publications; experience conducting mixed methods (qualitative quantitative) research; evidence of international Occupational Science collaborations/partnerships, active membership and involvement in Occupational Science societies/associations; international teaching experiences with students using distance learning methods; and record of grant funding for educational or scholarly/research projects is highly desirable.
