Lead Occupational Therapist Job Summary:The Lead Occupational Therapist will provide administrative direction and coordination of therapy activities and to optimize services for MGA. This position is responsible for assessment, planning, and implementation of patient treatment. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of restorative care services. This position will also serve as an active participant on the Clinical Services Team and establish standards of patient care for therapy, which meets all regulatory guidelines and assists patients to reach their maximum potential.Lead Occupational Therapist Duties and Responsibilities:Perform evaluations and treatments within your scope of practice. Maintain a caseload.Meet on an as needed basis with Therapy Director (TD) and team to discuss therapy issues\/concerns.Participate in interviews along with TD to provide specific discipline insight.Collaborate with therapy leadership (clinical and operations) regarding client needs, client complaints, staffing assignments, attendance at marketing events, participation in community events, and facilitation of field staff involvement as needed.Supervise and provide clinical oversight to therapists and assistants on team, as needed.Mentor and assist in patient care.Observation visits with discipline-specific team members.Monitor staff productivity and discuss low productivity issues with therapists as needed.Identify clinical supply needs.Perform annual reviews for therapists.Assist with corrective action plans for therapists.Read, follow and implement MGA policies and procedures and ensure compliance by therapists.Assist with therapist orientation.Perform QAPI.Ensure quality of therapist documentation.Other duties as assigned by Therapy Director and Regional Therapy Director.Supports and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively.Represents themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community.Adheres to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance.Reports on time and as scheduled in order to complete work within designated time.Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or communicated from the executive team.Lead Occupational Therapist Requirements:Education: Graduation from an accredited school of allied health sciencesLicensure:Current State Therapy License in good standingCurrent Driver’s licenseCurrent BLS\/CPR accredited by the American Heart Association or American Red CrossExperience:Minimum of 3 years Pediatric experience as a licensed TherapistMinimum of 1-year Professional experience in a Home Health environmentSkills:Clinical expertise in discipline and able to mentor othersHigh level of interpersonal skills and integrity; team player; team builderExceptional diplomacy and tactStrong communication oral\/writtenOrganize and prioritize tasks and projectsStrong computer skills and knowledge of basic software (Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR)Analytical problem solverAbility to architect and drive changeAdaptable\/Flexible; Steadiness under pressureHigh regard for confidentialityAbility to execute therapeutic procedures and manipulate special equipment accurately and safely (Clinic equipment)Physical and mental effort – ability to do lifting, bending, pulling, pushing and standing.
