In this position you will:
Perform screens for outpatients, inpatients and long term care residents and provides the supervising OT data to be used for evaluation, progress note and plan of care.Provide occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of the OT. Confers with treatment care team, individually and in conference, to exchange, and discuss patient/resident/client information for planning, modifying, and coordinating plan of care. Document goals and progress for the medical record according to facility guidelines.Provide and train clients and family members in the use of adaptive equipment for increasing independence with ADLs/IADLs. Assists the OT’s in ordering special equipment for patients and residents. Fits and trains them in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.','!*!Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate from an associate degree program in Occupational Therapy AssistantLicensed in the State of Alaska as a COTABasic Life Support (BLS) or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hirePreferred qualifications for this position include:1 year of clinical experience with physical disabilities About Kodiak Island Medical CenterProvidence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island.
