Location: Lowell, MA Category: Part-time Staff Posted On: Tue Feb 22 2022 Job Description: Title: Office Assistant Dept. : Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion & The Center for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Unit: Part-Time Non-Unit Reports To : Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Date: u00a0 2/22/2022 General Summary:u00a0 The Office Assistant to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a critical role in ensuring the Office and the Center for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation is promptly processing the necessary budgeting, purchasing, hiring activities as well as ensuring that in person and /or online event plans are delivered accurately and on time.u00a0 Working with the Executive Director, this role supports the goals of the Office including building an equity-minded culture at the College. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create and maintain budgets for multiple institutional and grant accounts. Research, submit and track purchase orders using online systems. Submit online Hiring Forms for positions. Facilitate room reservations and related details for in-person and online events. Compose emails to colleagues and external partners or vendors. Provide general office support. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma, GED or HiSet Work Experience: At least 6 months experience working in an office or customer service role Specific Experience: Experience working with organizational computer systems, ie. Ellucian Banner, to submit work and do tasks.u00a0 Experience and comfort using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Zoom Experience working with numbers and the math skills to manage a budget Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation and veterans including those with different levels of academic preparation, varying physical and learning abilities. Preferred Qualifications Education: Some earned college credits or an earned Associate degree Work Experience: Experience working in a college setting Specific Experience: Demonstrated interest in working in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion field. Bilingual skills. Additional Information: Salary Range:u00a0 $18.00 per hour in accordance with the MCC Part-Time Wage Schedule Location:u00a0 In person Lowell Campus, with occasional travel to the Bedford Campus, as needed . Hours: up to u00a0 18 hours per week Monday through Friday, schedule to be decided upon hire. Will include an occasional evening or weekend.
