Your day As an Occupational Therapist- Home Health you need to know how to: u00b7Provide quality rehabilitative Occupational Therapy to patients by the use of assessment and treatment to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with a physical, mental, or cognitive disorder. u00b7Promote excellent customer service while adhering to state and federal standards. u00b7Evaluate the patients (initial and interim) to determine level of function and problem identification; u00b7Goal setting and care planning in consultation with the physician to achieve goals u00b7Treatment provision, patient/family education and provision of equipment to increase the patientu2019s level of function and independence, discharge evaluation and planning. u00b7Timely recording of all evaluation data, treatment, and clientu2019s response to therapy interventions. u00b7Recording outcome of conferences and quality assurance data. u00b7Attend and participate in appropriate client care conferences, staff meetings, in-service programs and agency committee meetings. u00b7Provides continuing education and consultation to clients, families, and other staff members. u00b7Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) and Home Health Aides (HHA) as appropriate. u00b7Educates staff in clinical aspects, as needed. u00b7Maintains current knowledge of the Occupational Therapy (OT) profession by participation in formal education programs, workshops, and professional organizations. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: u00b7Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA and the AOTA u00b7Two yearsu2019 experience as an Occupational Therapist- preferably in Home Care setting u00b7Valid, current Colorado Driveru2019s license and access to a reliable automobile u00b7Successful completion of the National Registration Examination of the AOTA or is licensed by another state. u00b7Thorough knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles and procedures. u00b7Working knowledge of possible hazards to clients during treatment and of the necessary precautionary measures. u00b7Skills in assessing client needs accurately and setting realistic goals for rehabilitation. u00b7Ability to communicate effectively verbally an in writing. u00b7Ability to incorporate new ideas or concepts into practice. u00b7Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with professional and non-professional staff members, clients and the general public.
